Boat trips, snorkelling & marine life exhibition at the Ramla Bay ExperienceThe Gaia Foundation and Sharklab-Malta are getting together for another fun day of activities during a ‘Ramla Bay Experience’ in Gozo. This next event is taking place on Saturday, the 13th of September.

For this event they are organising snorkeling visits around the bay, an exhibition of the Maltese marine life, details for the area and free boat trips. Then at the end of the day they are planning to clean the beach and the area.

The snorkeling visits will last between 15-20 minutes and they will have extra masks and snorkels to borrow in case anybody is without on. The organisers said that they will “make sure you know how to use it and we will go through all the security measures so in the future you will be able to do it on your own.”

As usual, there will be some stands on the beach with a very interesting showcase of marine life for visitors to see, as well as some educational games for the children.

The boat trips will take place weather permitting and will provide an opportunity to explore the unique area of Ramla Bay from a different angle and learn more about it. Questions about the environment will be very welcome. The trips will last approximately 40 minutes and as usual, they will stop for a quick swim. The first one starts at 11.00am.

The Gaia Foundation and Sharklab will finish the day with a clean up of the beach and the area. Any help will be more than welcome! Bags and gloves will be provided for all volunteers.

The organisers said that all activities are free of charge! Donations are very welcome and much appreciated and will help us to cover the cost for the fuel.

“So bring your sun block, a hat, your mask and snorkel and all your energy to have to enjoy a great experience.”

Don’t miss this opportunity for the family to take part in a day out with a difference, learning about the beauty of the island, the features of its landscape and the marine life that surrounds it, underwater as well as from the surface, and also give a helping hand to the environment by joining in a beach clean-up!
