Science in the Citadel programme launch with something for everyoneThe new Gozo Science festival – Science in the Citadel – released its full programme today for the 22nd of April event.

The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, opens the event at 9am for 12 hours of shows, workshops, talks by eminent local scientists, debates, demonstrations, film and interactive Science Fair fun all within the atmospheric confines of the ancient Citadel.

Organised by Cafe Scientific in association with EcoGozo, Esplora and the Malta Chamber of Scientists, they are aiming to provide a fun and stimulating experience for visitors of all ages in order to get people talking about science, engaging with its many strands and appreciating the breadth of research, creativity and innovation taking place on the Maltese islands.

A full range of science disciplines is covered with activities at all levels from kindergarten to postgraduate, all with the aim of engaging and exciting people about the science taking place on the Maltese Islands.

The organisers said that whether they be local residents or just visitors for the day. 32 different organisations – including the University of Malta, Microsoft Youthspark, the Police Forensic Science Lab, Esplora and SharkLab, with many science student organisations – are laying on 50 different activities so there truly is something for everyone at the first of what is sure to become an annual attraction on Gozo.
