Dr Justyne Caruana discusses tourism ideas for Gozo with the GTADuring a meeting held with the Gozo Tourism Association, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing Dr Justyne Caruana, emphasised that tourism is a key pillar for the Gozitan economy.

She added that today, more than ever, we should explore the unique and distinct tourism niches for Gozo, to not only overcome the challenges of competition, but also the seasonality of tourists travelling to Gozo.

Dr Justyne Caruana shared with the Gozo Tourism Association several ideas in the area of the elderly and disabled, that may open doors for specialised tourism sectors in the island. “Gozo is ideal to promote as a Dementia Friendly Destination” and to this end Dr Caruana offered the assistance of the Parliamentary Secretariat in this matter.

The members of the Gozo Tourism Association expressed their satisfaction on the ideas that were raised during the meeting, saying that they “have enormous potential to generate tourism to Gozo, making it distinct from other destinations.

Both sides said that they will be collaborating together to carry out the ideas that were discussed.
