Gozo Observer 30th edition for summer 2014 issued by the Gozo CampusThe 30th edition of the Gozo Observer has just been issued by the University of Malta Gozo Campus and once again contains a number of interesting articles relating to Gozo.

Godwin Vella gives a detailed insight of three examples of local vernacular architecture still dotting Gozo’s rural landscape, namely barumbari, giren and mgiebah while Dr Saviour Formosa shows the importance of using immersive 3D technologies to transform reality into a virtual framework with regards to mapping our island.

Rev. Dr Joseph Bezzina focuses on Gozo’s 150th aniversary as a diocese while Dr Consiglia Azzopardi highlights her experience and findings through her doctoral studies on the history of lacemaking on our islands.

In his article ‘Hain Selem’ – The Village that flourished around a Spring, Kevin Cauchi recounts the history of Ghajnsielem, the first locality which welcomes all who visit Gozo.

In the final article, Joseph Calleja, the Gozo Campus Administrator, gives a summary of the extra-curricular activites held at the Gozo Campus between January and June 2014.
