The Xaghra Local Council has announced that it is organising a festival of Gozitan traditional food on Saturday, the 27th and Sunday, the 28th of September.

The programme of activities related to this event is as follows:

Saturday 27th September 2014:

Between 9am and 11.30am an information session will be held at the ‘Dun Alwig Camilleri’ Hall in the Victory Band Club. During this seminar, various local and foreign expert speakers will participate.

The seminar will discuss the cultivation of fig trees and the prevention of diseases related to fig trees.

From 8pm onwards, a traditional dinner will take place in Victory Square with the participation of local popular musician George Curmi ‘Il-Puse.”

Sunday 28th September 2014:

From 8.30am onwards, a festival of local food and crafts will take place at Victory Square. The festival will include the participation among others, of the Xaghra Victory Band, Ghaqda Foklor Xaghri, Ta’ Verna Folk Group, Aurora Folk Group.

There will be various food stalls and traditional crafts reenactments together with the traditional horse carriage and pony rides.

This festival evening event will be presented by local comic actors ‘Gorg u Pawlu.’

The Xaghra Local Council is inviting everyone to attend the festival event with something to interest all the family.

This activity is being financed by Measure 413.6 of the Leader Programme.
