Gharb Infiorata celebrates 2 Popes & the anniversary of the titular paintingGharb recently celebrated the locality’s feast dedicated to the Visitation of Our Lady to St. Elizabeth. For the 13th consecutive year, the Local Council participated during the feast by organising the Infiorata on the Church Parvis.

The themes forming this year’s Infiorata included the coat of arms of Pope John Paul II, who has been declared Saint this year, a crown commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the coronation of the titular painting of the Visitation and, the coat the of arms of Pope John XXIII.

Early on Sunday afternoon, following the popular morning processing, a number of volunteers varying from young children to adults gathered on the Church Parvis to start the work on the Infiorata.

This was completed just in time for the evening procession with the Visitation statue, to pass over the spectacular carpet of flowers.

The Gharb Local Council thanked all those who gave their help in setting up the Infiorata.
