Police officers awarded Certificate of Merit for arresting stork shooterSenior Inspector Francis Micallef and PC 533 Paul Sheehan were today awarded a Certificate of Merit for the role they played in Tuesday, in the arrest of a 26-year old hunter.

They were off duty on Tuesday, when they witnessed the man shooting down a stork at about 7.30pm, in the limits of Qormi and Luqa.

The brief ceremony was presided over by Acting Commissioner Ray Zammit, in the presence of Senior Inspector Mario Tonna, the Officer in Charge of the Administrative Law Enforcement Unit.
